“Thanks to Diálogos Duo for developing and implementing this truly unique artistic collaboration with our guitar and clarinet students.

What an amazing opportunity to learn so much about the cultural context of Brazilian Choro and work with Richard and Louis to create great performances of the music.”

Welcome to Diálogos Mannes Duo Residency page.

We enjoyed working with four Duos comprised of Mannes clarinetists and guitarists.

This was the PILOT residency which formed the foundation for residencies we are now presenting at other universities and conservatories.

The featured repertoire was "A DOZEN CHORO TRIBUTES", recorded on our latest CD, "CHORO TRIBUTES".

Here is the residency ORIENTATION & PREVIEW.

• In two AUDIO PLAYERS below, pieces from the CD are paired with Choro classics which served as the stylistic basis for the composer tributes.

Q & A BLOG includes questions from the players regarding aspects of Choro style interpretation, techniques and tips for individual and duo repertoire preparation.

VIDEOS of "A Dozen Choro Tributes" premiere by Diálogos Duo are followed by select videos of Brazil's stellar Choro artists.

We hope you enjoy this introduction to Diálogos Duo Residencies.

You can return to our MAIN RESIDENCY PAGE at any time.

Review of Choro Tributes Scores & Digital Playalong Bundle

"These pieces are a great addition to our clarinet repertoire, with the style and compositional intuition of Boukas. His keen attention to harmony, rhythm, balance and style create a unique familiarity within the Choro genre. We owe Boukas a hearty thank you."
