Projects

Welcome to the PROJECTS PAGE.

Each subpage (dropdowns of this main page) represents a major Brazilian music project I produced apart from my current MAIN ENSEMBLES.

Some projects are robust collaborations which have since expired- however, a definitive body of work was produced which served as a bridge to the work I am doing today.

These collaborations include three Duos:

• Novosel-Boukas Duo (with Croatian tambura virtuoso Filip Novosel

• Law-Boukas Duo (with cellist Wendy Law)

• Boukas-Fuller Duo (with bassist Jeff Fuller)

Other projects in this section are Brazilian historic repertoire programs I produced at The New School for Performing Arts (Jazz School and Mannes) where I have been faculty for thirty years. These include programs by my Brazilian Choro Ensemble and Brazilian Jazz Ensemble, and collaborations with Mannes, the classical conservatory division of New School.

I invite you to explore all these diverse programs and projects, as they represent both my own compositions and those of illustrious Brazilian masters.
