Diálogos Brazilian Duo Programs

Their dynamic performances, innovative original compositions and authentic interpretations of Brazilian popular genres are establishing DIÁLOGOS BRAZILIAN DUO as a cutting-edge contemporary ensemble.

The Duo offers three main programs:

• TRIBUTES TO BRAZILIAN MASTERS
   Original Boukas Compositions

• THE BRAZILIAN SONGBOOK
   Jobim, Nascimento and Beyond

• CHORO CLASSICS of 20th CENTURY
   Pixinguinha to Jacob do Bandolim

This permits concert series and educational presenters maximum flexibility who program Chamber, Brazilian/Latin music and Jazz.

Concerts are most often presented without intermission– however, the Duo offers more extended performances with an intermission.

• HYBRID PROGRAMS

Today's music audiences are becoming more diverse and discerning listeners of Brazilian music. To achieve even greater diversity and flexibility within a single concert, presenters can request a mix of repertoire that draws upon any of the three above specialty programs.

Choro Classics of 20th Century

• CHORO CLASSICS of the 20th Century:
Pixinguinha, Jacob do Bandolim and Contemporaries

Although considered within Brazil as part of its popular music tradition, Choro is virtuoso instrumental music whose luminaries and repertoire span a 150-year history. Choro's roots emanate from 19th century European dance forms, Afro-Brazilian traditions, Classical music and Jazz. It is a multi-genre body of repertoire: choro, choro lento, valsa, polca, maxixe, schottische among others. Its central historical figures include Ernesto Nazareth, Anacleto de Medeiros, Pixinguinha, Radamés Gnattali, Jacob do Bandolim, Waldyr Azevedo and Hermeto Pascoal.
